What Sets Us Apart?

At Neuroversity, we combine clinical expertise with compassionate care—guiding families through a clear, supportive evaluation process that delivers timely answers and meaningful next steps. Our focus is not just on identifying diagnoses, but on helping you understand your child’s needs and move forward with confidence.

  • Step 1: Complimentary Consultation Call

The process begins with a 15-minute phone consultation with Dr. Simpson. This conversation is designed to determine whether Neuroversity is the right fit for your child’s needs, review the evaluation process, and answer any initial questions. If appropriate, this call will also be used to schedule your child’s first appointment.

  • Step 2: Parent Questionnaires and Teacher Input

Following your consultation, you will receive a series of standardized behavior rating forms via secure email. These tools allow caregivers—and when applicable, teachers or therapists—to share valuable insights about the child’s functioning across home, school, and community settings.

Timely completion of these forms (ideally within 2–3 days) is essential, as they provide critical information that informs the diagnostic formulation and ensures the evaluation remains on schedule.

  • Step 3: Developmental Interview & In-Person Testing

On the day of testing, Dr. Simpson will begin with a comprehensive caregiver interview, exploring the child’s developmental, medical, behavioral, and educational history. Immediately following this interview, the child will complete a series of in-person testing activities tailored to their age and presenting concerns.

Testing sessions are interactive and individualized, often incorporating:

    1. Standardized Assessments

    2. Paper-and-pencil tasks

    3. Play-based or hands-on activities

    4. Verbal prompts

    5. Observation-based assessments

    6. Computerized tasks, when developmentally appropriate

Depending on the scope of the evaluation and the child’s age, testing may occur in a single 2.5–3 hour session, or across multiple shorter appointments to ensure a comfortable and developmentally appropriate pace.

In some cases, additional testing, behavioral observations, or follow-up interviews may be scheduled if further clarification is needed.

  • Step 4: Feedback Session

Once all assessments are scored and interpreted, a feedback session is scheduled—typically held 2 to 3 weeks after the final testing appointment. During this virtual meeting, Dr. Simpson will walk caregivers through the results, discuss diagnostic impressions, and outline recommended next steps.

For children under age 13, only caregivers are asked to attend the feedback session. Adolescents age 13 and older are welcome to participate at their discretion, depending on parental preference and the nature of the evaluation.

This session is designed to ensure families walk away with:

    1. A clear understanding of the results

    2. Thoughtful explanations of any diagnoses (if applicable)

    3. Actionable, individualized recommendations for therapy, school supports, and home-based strategies

  • Evaluation Report

Following the feedback appointment, families will receive a comprehensive written report. This report includes:

    1. A summary of developmental and clinical background

    2. A detailed integration of test results

    3. Descriptions of all assessments administered

    4. Clinical impressions and diagnoses (if applicable)

    5. Practical, evidence-based recommendations

The final report is typically delivered within 1 to 2 weeks after the feedback session. With your written consent, this report can be shared with schools, pediatricians, therapists, and other involved providers to help coordinate care.
